Frequently Asked Questions

Screen printing is a traditional technique used to print mass production on fabrics such as t-shirts, sweaters, pants, and many other apparel. Screens are composed of different types of silk mesh, surrounded by a wooden or aluminium frame. The ink goes through the mesh and stamps the design on the fabric. Currently, it’s one of the most common and economical ways to print apparel.

The screen printing process is one of the most enduring processes that have existed over decades. Since the ink goes directly into the thread, and then burned on a professional conveyor dryer, it will stick longer on a fabric than any other printing process. With screen printing you can get a smoodly texture, a rustic feeling or a raise-up 3 d surface. Everything depending on what type of ink is used.

We work with the most prestigious material and ink in the industry of screen printing. Some of them are: Plastisol, Water Based, Discharge, and Metallic.

First, we need to create a digital design on a design program, Corel, Illustrator etc. Then, we print that design using pure black ink on a special transparent paper call film. The darkness of the design will be essential when burning it on an emulsioned screen.
Screens need to be prepared ahead of time using a particular solution called emulsion which is a coat of liquid material applied on the surface of the screen mesh. When the film is placed on the top of the screen and exposed to a strong light source ( light box) it will stam the design on the screen while the rest of the emulsion coat will dry and indurate.
After washing the screen and removing all of the exposed areas of the design, it is placed on the screen printing machine. Right after that, we add high quality ink on the screen and with a rubber squeegee, we swipe the paint on the design so the ink can go through and stamp its content on the shirt. Finally, the shirt is placed inside a high temperature dryer to cure the paint.

For the moment, screening printing photos is not available, However, we can still print digital images using a different process called digital printing transfer. A digital printing transfer is a process in which we print a multicolor image (photograph) on a special high quality paper which then is heat pressed on the shirts, using a heat press machine. The high pressure makes the image stick to the fabric through the threads.

Digital Printing Transfer can be used to print individual T-shirts for special occasions or special events such as birthdays, funerals, family trips and many more.

It’s recommended to wash this type of printing on cold water and dry it on cold air, just to prolong its quality. However, since the design is printing through water based ink, it will fade away after a certain time.

For the moment we can print up to 4 colors.

Yes!
You can change color from black ink to white ink, from red to blue, from whatever color to whatever color you might wish. Yet; be aware that a $15 dollars cleaning fee will be added every time you switch the color of the ink. This fee is charged due to the labor and material that is done to clean up the screen to replace a color for another.
We recommend that you pick different colors of shirts that are similar on pigments, such as dark colors so the printing ink can be light, or light shirts colors so the print ink can be dark.

How long does it take to get my order?

Screen printing, basically, is done through individual screens that are utilized to paint a design on a shirt.

Heat Transfer Vinyl is a process in which a high quality sticker (vinyl) is cut, according to a specific design, through a plotter ( cutter). Then, it’s placed on the top of a shirt and strongly compressed by a high temperature Heat Press machine which makes the vinyl stick to the thread of the shirts, giving it a soft and smooth quality.
Here are some differences between Screen printing and Heat Transfer Vinyl:

With Screen printing you can make hundreds of hundreds of shirts and you will save more money because the production is low-cost. Moreover, the print will last longer than any other printing process.

With vinyl you can make a few personalized shirts such as individual names, individual numbers and individual designs, however the cost will increase a little bit more because each design is cut individually and each shirt is heat pressed independently. Some of the print will last about 2-3 years depending on the way the shirts are being washed. It’s recommended to wash the shirts with cold or warm water and dry it with cold air.

While in screen printing we use high quality ink that penetrates the thread and stays there forever, digital printing is done through Direct Garment Printer, which works exactly like a regular printer. The shirt is inserted inside the printer, like a sheet of paper, then once the printer receives the information of the design, it prints on the shirt, utilizing layers of ink, filling up every tiny space of the thread, until the design is completed. Direct Garment Printing is a great way to print individual designs, even though the process to print one shirt might take longer, the printing outcomes will always have great details and multi colors on it.
